Date: 5th to 20th January 2010
Venue: PERMATA, Bangi and Equatorial Hotel, Bangi-Putrajaya
As the kick start of my working career, i was required to attend this induction program for 16 days. Initially i was amazed with the duration of the program for been too long. But everything changed after i completed this program. Registered and checked in to Permata Hostel with edwin. Anyway, they should rename the hostel to be hotel due to its luxuriousness. Met some ex utpians who was joining the same program as me.
The program officially started with an opening remarks by the MD/CEO of Permata, then we were divided into two classes. I was assigned to group 2 which consists on mostly young people as compared to group 1. The facilitators are Pn Noor and En Mazlee. Both of them ...one word....incredible In this group 2, we were subdivided again into 4 smaller groups based on the shared values, integrity is my group by whom i met some of best people, adrian, shealtiel, ana, aida,arif and gayathiri. Been among the most talkative pipers together with adrian somestimes does you for good, sometimes it doesn't. Good as for been able to express yourselves, get noticed and bring some cheer to the class. But sometimes, i might uttered wrong words which hurt or touched ppl's sensitivity.
The program that we went thru includes vision, mission and shared values. Those thing looked quite boring but the organiser/faci made it in an interactive way by which the effect is much stronger than been taught in classroom styles, several activities been conducted such as building model of twin towers, blind folding games, and several creative presentations. Of course some "energizers"( bangra, poco poco, i love you etc) are done when the class was quite boring. All these really made the group to be more fun and energetic.
Besides that. several outdoors activities been conducted which includes spiderweb and giant slippers while the ultimate outdoor activities is Mega Challenge. This challenge basically trained us on the extreme condition. All our hotel rooms were locked during this challenge to avoid pipers from escaping back to room. Our tasks to build 8 oil rigs using pvc pipe and need to be tested with several weight to ensure its stability. not to 4get...several samples need to be collected as part of challenge's task. Sleeping overnite on wet grass with all the attacks from unknown insects did remind me of my scouting days. A tired yet fun challenge wit me among winning the morning challenge.hahaha....bt got free breakfast too...
Towards the end of the pipe, we were exposed to some technical and non technical briefing which somehow make me quite sleepy at times, The programme concluded with groups presentations and a 8 courses sit down chinese cruisine dinner the night b4 that.
Anyway, that just some brief description of this program. Basically this program is an ideal start for my working career.. My feeling regarding this program will be blogged next..til then c ya
